Majority share in Hagens Verpakkingen

In December 2018, LC Packaging bought a majority share in Hagens Verpakkingen. The box  erecting station in Venlo erects boxes of both corrugated cardboard and solid cardboard, and  predominantly serves the fruit and vegetable sector in the southeast of the Netherlands and in the  border region of Germany. Our interest means the quality of the products and services will be  maintained, and the services offered will be expanded. For LC Packaging, this purchase is an  important addition to the box erecting stations in Sint-Katelijne-Waver and Sint Truiden in Belgium.  The name ‘Hagens Verpakkingen’ will stay the same, as will the box erecting services being  provided to existing customers. Not much will change for the 15 or so employees, either, and the  former owners Dennis and Maaike Hagens will still be closely involved in daily operations.

International connectivity and knowledge sharing

To improve our internal processes, LC Packaging invested in a combination of Microsoft  applications in 2018. By introducing Microsoft Dynamics, Microsoft SharePoint and Microsoft  Teams, among others, we have increased the user friendliness of our systems, connected all our applications and brought our colleagues worldwide closer together by providing an extensive  platform for real-time communication, and information and knowledge sharing. As a result, we can  deliver even more high-quality service to our customers.

Brand new

Head Office

In 2018, the first permits were issued and contracts signed for the construction of a brand new and  sustainable head office and warehouse in Waddinxveen. Located right by the A12, 15 minutes  away from Rotterdam harbour and 30 minutes from Schiphol Airport – the ideal location. This new  office is scheduled to be completed in 2020 and the aim is to make the building as sustainable as  possible (BREEAM certified). Due to the growth of LC Packaging in recent years, a lack of space has  arisen in both the office environment and the warehouse area. Time to buy a coat that fits!

FTA Europe

Diamond Award

On May 30, 2018, we won the Flexographic Technical Association (FTA) Europe Diamond Award in  Milan, Italy. LC Packaging was awarded first place in the category ‘Creative Use of Flexo’ for our  beautiful 4-colour print potato jute bag. LC Packaging prints approx. 25 million jute bags per year.  The structure of the jute and the fact that each jute bag is individually produced makes the printing  process quite challenging. Thanks to our investments in highly innovative Flexo printing  technologies, LC Packaging was the only participant in the FTA Diamond Awards 2018 with a  flexographic design entry on jute material.
