From trading in jute bags, to becoming market leader in flexible transport packaging. LC Packaging’s history reflects a story of bold entrepreneurship, family, close partnership and sustainability.
In the 1920s, Wilhelmus “Wim” Lammers began his own venture trading in used jute bags. Despite competition, his company thrived in a market trading millions of bags annually.
The family business, now led by the fourth generation, expanded, while maintaining its core values: committed, reliable, and loyal.
Did Wim Lammers ever think that over 100 years later, his family’s business would be in the top 1% of the world’s best-reviewed business in terms of sustainability? Or that the company would be rated EcoVadis Platinum 2023 for the third time in a row? Or that it would be a market leader in flexible transport packaging?

Committed, Reliable, Loyal… and Royal!
In the Netherlands, only a select group of companies, around 250, hold the Royal designation, a prestigious honour granted by His Majesty King Willem-Alexander, King of the Netherlands. Criteria include being over 100 years old, having 100+ employees, having a leading position in the market sector, and having a strong Dutch presence. The rigorous application process started in May 2022 and involved submitting many documents and evidence to prove our position and contribution. The Royal designation will be granted during an official ceremony in February 2024. This distinction, achieved by meeting stringent standards, signifies commitment to excellence and societal impact.
LC Packaging 100 years
