Three ambitious goals that we aim to achieve no later than 2030

Read more on the actions we took, the progress we have made, and the next steps we will take towards achieving our three ambitious goals no later than 2030.

Science-Based Emission Reduction Targets validated by the SBTi

Our science-based greenhouse gas emission reduction targets, validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), are aligned with the 1.5°C pathway. With a target of a 50% reduction in our emissions by 2030, we commit to reducing scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions. These targets, part of our 2030 Ambition, reflect our dedication to climate action in line with the Paris Agreement.

LC Packaging launches Living Wage Programme for key partners

By 2030, we aim to ensure that 100% of our key production partners’ employees earn a living wage. To achieve this, we have launched our Living Wage Programme. This programme includes measuring the wage gap, strategy definition, progress reporting, and verification. The pilot started in August and we plan to involve all our key partners to uplift the livelihoods of 15,000 families by eliminating ‘working poverty’ from our supply chain.

As part of our 2030 Ambition strategy, our ambition is to offer sustainable packaging solutions with a focus on both people and planet, recognising sustainability as a long-term endeavour.

With a century of knowledge and experience, we can embrace this principle. While collaborating with partners, customers, and colleagues, we strive to create a brighter future. Our 2030 Ambition tells you more about our goals and our motivation to truly make an impact and make the world a better place for future generations. Read more about the steps we’ve taken in 2023 to contribute to this ambition below.

Annual Report 2023

Greening our offices and production facilities

To reduce our carbon emissions and energy usage, several LC offices and production facilities have implemented upgrades. For example our FIBC production facility Dutch-Bangla Pack Limited (DBPL). They have successfully implemented solar panels and solar streetlights. This covers 7.5% of DBPL’s energy needs. LC France (Sainte Marie) also rely a 100% on solar panels. At LC Belgium (Sint-Katelijne-Waver) they are on 100% renewable energy. With a new building for LC Shankar in South Africa, they’ve managed to use 79% less water.
All these efforts will help us achieve and embrace our purpose: Contribute to a world without waste.
