To us, innovation means we want to invest in customer satisfaction and the well-being of people and planet.
Did you know that 90% of our profits are being reinvested back into the company? In 2022 we put our focus on research and development. Next to our Circular Economy Manager and Technical Support Manager, we added an Innovation Manager to our team. We also took new steps in reducing the waste and CO2e emissions related to our packaging and developed new ways of protecting the valuable products inside.
Reduced weight of net bags
We want to contribute to a world without waste. To do so, we must work closely together with our production partners. One of our long-term production partners in plastic packaging has now achieved a significant weight reduction of up to 5% for our labelled and baxmatic net bags. The reduction was achieved as a result of investments in new machinery using less material to achieve the same high quality net bags.
Focus on R&D
We are committed to innovation and want to invest in the future. To further enhance our Research & Developments (R&D) efforts, we have recently added an Innovation Manager to the LC Packaging team. He works closely with our Circular Economy Manager and Technical Support Manager. Together, they identify opportunities for new, innovative and environmentally-friendly packaging solutions and ways to improve our existing products to better fit today’s world.

Annual Report 2022
30% rPP in FIBCs
Our own production facility Dutch-Bangla Pack Ltd. and our key production partners can produce FIBCs (big bags) with 30% recycled content. The rPP-bags can be produced with both Post-Industrial and Post Consumer recyclate (PIR or PCR), without having to increase the weight of the fabric, and the FIBCs remain as strong and safe as a bag from virgin material.

Modified Atmosphere Packaging
In 2022, we have introduced a packaging concept used for the controlled process of packaging perishable products (mainly food) to our packaging portfolio, called MAP. MAP stands for Modified Atmosphere Packaging and helps extend the packed product’s shelf-life, preserves the quality, and minimises food waste. This also contributes to sustainable and responsible supply chain management.

Clean wastewater with Dissolved Air Flotation system
Pacapime has installed a Dissolved Air Flotation (DAF) System in its production facility in Halle, Belgium, to ensure its wastewater is not harmful to the environment. The water treatment installation purifies 22,000 liters of wastewater per day. The DAF System allows Pacapime to discharge water in compliance with the strictest discharge standards into the river Zenne.
